Held on October 18th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the event features young alumni from these competitive industries who share their experiences and insights, providing valuable guidance to students interested in these fields.

Women in Leadership Summit
The Women in Leadership Summit is an annual event hosted by the Department of Economics, designed to showcase the diverse career opportunities available to undergraduate women in the Economics and Economics & Accounting majors. The summit connects students with successful female leaders across various industries, offering insights into different career paths and practical guidance on navigating the workforce.
The event features a distinguished panel of women leaders, including faculty members and accomplished alumni from sectors such as finance, consulting, real estate, marketing, technology, and accounting. Panel discussions are conducted in a relaxed, question-and-answer format, allowing students to engage directly with speakers about their career journeys, challenges, and advice for women entering the field.
Following the panel, students participate in a structured networking session with alumni who represent a wide variety of industries. This format allows students to spend 15 minutes with each industry expert, learning about their profession and exploring diverse career paths. These interactions provide students with the opportunity to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of the day-to-day realities and opportunities within different fields.

Each year, the event draws over 200 transfer students, making it a key gathering for building connections within the department.
Programs
Alumni Mentorship Program
The Alumni Mentorship Program connects students with experienced alumni based on their field of interest, providing valuable insights throughout the academic year. This program allows students to learn how the industry they are interested in actually functions, explore the day-to-day responsibilities of potential future occupations, and receive personalized guidance on career development.
Mentors offer support in various areas, including resume building, identifying key opportunities to gain relevant experience, and navigating the early stages of a professional career. By pairing students with alumni who have successfully navigated their fields, the program aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, helping students make informed decisions about their career paths.
Data Hack
The Department of Economics hosts an annual Data Hack program, which is specifically designed to help students become proficient in data analytics before entering the workforce. Throughout the program, participants learn to work with data using the programming language R, beginning with a comprehensive boot camp taught by a graduate student. Following the boot camp, students have the opportunity to apply their newly acquired skills in a hackathon-style competition.
