Undergraduate-Graduate Research Partnership (UGRP)
The UGRP program provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in research by assisting PhD candidates with their projects. At the start of each quarter (Fall, Winter, and Spring), PhD students post available research positions, outlining the required skills. Undergraduates can apply to up to three positions, submitting their qualifications for consideration.
Once selected, students commit to working six hours per week and earn two units of 199RA credit. This partnership not only provides valuable research support to PhD candidates but also gives undergraduates hands-on experience in their field. PhD students gain mentoring experience, while the Director of Undergraduate Studies oversees the partnerships and assigns grades.
The number of available positions varies each quarter based on the demand for undergraduate research assistants.
