Research

Michael's research focuses on questions in Labor and Health Economics, and uses tools from both Experimental Economics and Applied Econometrics. He is interested in biases caused by self-image concerns and how they impact job search behavior. He plans to address further topics in Labor and Personnel Economics in upcoming work, including a field experiment among unemployed job seekers in France. He has also evaluated the impact of indoor e-cigarette restrictions and how these policies can lead to substitution with conventional cigarettes among pregnant women, impacting smoking behavior and birth outcomes.
