Biography

Kathy Baylis is a Professor of Agricultural and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois. She obtained her PhD in Economics from UC Berkeley and in 2001, served as the staff economist for agriculture and forest in the Whtie House. Dr. Baylis now helps stakeholders design agricultural, conservation, and trade policy to promote ecosystem preservation and international food security. She assesses the effectiveness of interventions and their consequences for global food security, the environment, and social welfare.
