Successful Alumni Event
Alumni gathered at the Los Angeles Country Club on October 8, 2024 to connect with faculty and friends, and support the department.
On October 8, Economics Board of Advisors member Marc Ackerman '94 graciously hosted over 50 alumni, faculty, and friends at the Los Angeles Country Club to connect UCSB's economic research with its supporters.
After Professor Erik Eyster provided an update on the Department’s recent developments, Mick Meylor '16 shared how he began supporting the Department after graduation. Professor Peter Rupert, Director of UCSB's Economic Forecast Project, then delivered an overview of the macroeconomy, highlighting the implications of rent control, particularly regarding California's Proposition 33. His presentation sparked many thoughtful questions and comments from the audience.
The department has a variety of ways that alumni can stay connected with the department. You can:
- join our LinkedIn network
