UCSB Economics PhD Alumnus Fernando Lozano Elected as Co-Chair

Fernando Lozano, an Economics PhD alumni, was elected as the Co-Chair the Council of Economic Advisors last Friday.

Former UCSB Economics PhD student Fernando Lozano was elected as Co-Chair to California’s Council of Economic Advisors on Friday.

The council, which was created by Governor Gavin Newsom, will play an integral role in strengthening the state’s economy and advising the Governor on economic issues.

Lozano is a Labor Economist and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Economics at Pomona College. He obtained his doctorate in Economics UC Santa Barbara in 2005.
