Economics PhD candidate Jeffrey Cross won the 2020 Best Paper award at the Southern California Graduate Conference in Applied Economics (SOCAE).
Cross presented his Job Market Paper, "Who Bears the Load? Carbon Taxes and Electricity Markets." His research combines Economic Theory with Econometric techniques to understand the impacts that environmental policies have on markets.
SOCAE is an annual conference in Empirical Economics run by PhD students in Economics. UC Santa Barbara is expecting to host the fourth SOCAE conference in November 2021.
