Biography

Eric Chyn is an applied microeconomist whose research covers a range of topics in labor and public economics. Much of his research focuses on understanding the effects of government programs on the long-run outcomes of children. His research has been published in leading academic journals, such as the American Economic Review and the Journal of Political Economy, and covered by national media outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Atlantic. His dissertation work was awarded the Dorothy S. Thomas Award from the Population Association of America (PAA) and the Dissertation Prize from the Human Capital and Economic Opportunity (HCEO) Global Working Group. He received a PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan in 2016.
