Biography
John Pippenger is a Professor of Economics at the University of California Santa Barbara. His primary interest is foreign exchange markets including what they imply about macroeconomics in general, like whether foreign exchange markets should be modeled as stocks or flows has implications about the debate over liquidity preference versus loanable funds. He is currently working on the behavior of flexible exchange rates and what arbitrage implies about purchasing power parity.
