Xhulio Uruci, University of California, Santa Barbara

Biography

Xhulio is a PhD student studying Economics at UCSB. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (2014), minoring in Economics. Xhulio also holds a Master of Arts in Economics from UC Santa Barbara (2019). Originally from Albania, he grew up in Boston.

Research

Xhulio's research interests include Labor Economics, Spatial Economics, and Applied Econometrics, with a particular focus on immigrant destination patterns in the US. He is currently working on research examining applications for asylum in both the US and European context, and the changing destination choices of US immigrants in the 21st century.
