Biography

Hakan Ozyilmaz is an Economics PhD candidate. Prior to his time at UCSB, Ozyilmaz completed his undergraduate education at Koç University in Instanbul, where he obtained a BS in Mathematics and a BA and MA in Economics. In his research, Ozyilmaz designs laboratory experiments to study boundedly rational behavior with the goal of informing policy and Economic modeling. 

Event Details

Ozyilmaz will be presenting his Job Market Talk, "The Debt Payment Puzzle: An Experimental Investigation." The paper, coauthored with Guangli Zhang, studies the sources of suboptimal allocations observed in credit card repayments using a diagnostic laboratory experiment.
