The Department is currently accepting applications for an Accounting Lecturer in Economics (Pooled Search). 

POSITION OVERVIEW

Position title: Accounting Lecturer

Salary range: See Table 15 (https://ap.ucsb.edu/compensation.and.benefits/ucsb.salary.scales/15.pdf) for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimated full-time rate for this position at 100% time is $66,259 - $126,960, dependent on level of experience. Percent appointments may vary.
Percent time: Appointments are variable percentage (generally 17-33% time for one quarter).

Percent time: Positions may range from 33% to 100%.

Position duration: Teaching appointments are variable, ranging from one to three courses per quarter, and from one quarter to one year in length, with the possibility of reappointment, based on department need and performance.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The UCSB Department of Economics is creating a pool of lecturer candidates for the potential to teach one or more undergraduate courses for students pursuing an economics and accounting degree.

Members of the pool would be called upon to teach lower or upper division students as needed. The number of positions varies by quarter, depending on demand and the needs of the department. The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service as appropriate to the position.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship. Also, please note that the department cannot reimburse travel or moving expenses for relocating.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Basic - M.A. or Ph.D. in accounting, tax, economics, or finance. We will also consider candidates with a B.A./B.S. in accounting, tax, economics, or finance, a CPA licensure, and at least 5 years of public accounting experience.

Preferred qualifications

Prior teaching experience is desirable.
