WHO WE ARE:

The Latino Business Association (L.B.A.) is a sub-committee of EL CONGRESO and is affiliated with E.O.P.

ORGANIZATION OBJECTIVE:

Our main goal is to prepare our members for the "working world." This includes those skills inherent in most working environments: leadership, organization, communication, networking, and teamwork to name a few. By becoming involved in our organization activities we hope to assist our members in acquiring some, if not all, of these skills.

YOU SHOULD KNOW:

L.B.A. serves as more than just a business club. We are also a support group, helping our members cope with college life. We pride ourselves on allowing ALL members who desire to become involved in any project to do so. We are an organization comprised not only of business students but of students of all majors, those people with the desire to prepare themselves with the "working world." We strive to implement all of our members' ideas, giving the freedom to initiate new programs.

ACTIVITIES:

Throughout the year, L.B.A. participates in and hosts a variety of events:

1) Guest Speakers - to help students become comfortable in dealing with professionals. We host several speakers from diverse backgrounds to come and share valuable experiences and helpful hints about that industry.

2) Conferences - National Hispanic Business Association Leadership Conference: provides students an opportunity to come together and participate in a weekend of career enhancing activities.

3) Fundraisers - to help cover expenses as well as provide events that bring our members closer together. We hold several fundraisers throughout the year.

4) Community Involvement - AIDS walk, Adopt-A-Family, Habitat for Humanity, Toy Drive, etc.
