The Laboratory for Aggregate Economics and Finance (LAEF) at the University of California, Santa Barbara is please to host the Financing Macroeconomics conference at the Upham Hotel Garden room located at 1404 De La Vina Street in Santa Barbara on the 2nd and 3rd of November. The goal of the conference is to bring together researchers working on the intersection of macroeconomics and finance. We follow a long tradition of papers studying how macroeconomic models can help improve our understanding of finance (e.g. how macroeconomic volatility affects asset pricing) and in what ways finance can help improve our understanding of macroeconomic events and policy (e.g. does the span of assets affect the volatility of output?). The conference organizers are Zachary Bethune, Assistant Professor of Economics; Leland Farmer, Assistant Professor of Economics; and Eric Young, Professor of Economics, all from the University of Virginia.
