Information for Participants
For the nights of February 29 and March 1, we have arranged blocks of rooms at two Santa Barbara hotels. The Hotel Marmonte (formerly known as the Radisson, 1111 East Cabrillo Boulevard) is an upscale hotel on the beach, near Stearns Wharf. Hotel website is http://www.hotelmarmonte.com/ Rooms are priced at a UCSB rate of $179 per night. For reservations with Hotel MarMonte, you need to call 1-800-643-1994 and ask for block code UCSBECON. The reservations should be made before Feb 7th, 2008.

Less expensive, very clean and comfortable rooms that are not close to the beach are available at the Best Western South Coast Inn in Goleta. These are priced at $135 per night. Hotel website is http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/productInfo.do?propertyCode=05521 To book at Best Western South Coast you need to call 1-800-350-3614 to speak with the front desk and use the name "SWET Conference" when calling. The reservations should be made before Feb 7th, 2008. The morning of the 8th they will release the unsold rooms.

Directions to Hotel MarMonte from LAX:
Head west on W Century Blvd toward Vicksburg Ave
Turn left at S Sepulveda Blvd
Take the ramp onto I-105 E
Take the exit onto I-405 N toward Santa Monica
Take the exit onto US-101 N toward Ventura
Take exit 94B for Hermosillo Dr
Turn left at Coast Village Rd
Coast Village Rd turns left and becomes E Cabrillo Blvd

Directions to Hotel MarMonte from Santa Barbara Airport:
Head west on Fowler Rd
Continue on WM L Moffett Pl
Slight left at Sandspit Rd
Take the ramp onto CA-217 N/Ward Memorial Blvd
Take the exit toward Santa Barbara
Merge onto US-101 S
Exit onto CA-144/S Milpas St
Turn left at E Cabrillo Blvd

Directions to Best Western South Coast Inn from LAX:
Head west on W Century Blvd toward Vicksburg Ave

Take the ramp onto I-105 E
Take the exit onto I-405 N toward Santa Monica
Take the exit onto US-101 N toward Ventura
Take the Patterson Ave exit
Turn right at N Patterson Ave

Directions to Best Western South Coast Inn from Santa Barbara Airport:
Head east on Fowler Rd toward Placencia St
Turn left at S Fairview Ave
Turn left at N Fairview Ave
Turn right at Calle Real

Directions to UCSB from LAX:
Start out going North on Sepulveda Blvd
Stay in the right lane
Turn Right onto Howard Hughes Pkwy and continue downhill.
Howard Hughes Pwky becomes a freeway ramp
Merge onto I-405 N
Take the US-101 exit toward Ventura / Los Angeles
Merge onto US-101 North exit toward Ventura
Exit on the CA-217 from the US-101 North, and stay in the left lane until you see the parking kiosk at the east gate.
They will provide you with a map and parking pass, and tell you where to find parking near the UCen.
The Harbor Room is on the bottom floor, behind the restaurants.
The Mission Room is on the main floor, behind the Gaucho Deli.

Directions to UCSB from Santa Barbara Airport:
Exit the Airport and go right on Moffett Pl.
Turn left onto Ward Memorial Blvd./CA-217 South towards UCSB
Stop at the east gate parking kiosk to get a map, parking pass and directions to the UCen
