New faculty appointments:

  • Gregory Price (Program Alumnus, 1981) has been named Charles E. Merrial Endowed Professor, and Chair of the Department of Economics at Morehouse University.
  • Susan Collins (Program Alumna, 1978) has been named Dean of the Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan
  • Steven Culpepper (Program Alumnus, 2001) recently accepted an assistant professor position with the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver.

To the Prospective AEA Summer Program Applicant:
Having a PhD in Economics equips you to address major social issues, to teach, and to conduct research that can effect the economy, or put down foundations for new economic study. In short, an Economics doctorate enables you to lay the groundwork to become a leader in academia or society.
