UCSB Economics is a department with a proud past and present. Our faculty, who are engaged in research at the forefront of economic theory, are also dedicated teachers committed to both undergraduate and graduate education. Their presence, in turn, attracts outstanding students, who contribute significantly to research and teaching in the department.

To maintain and enhance the quality of faculty, students, and programs, the Department of Economics requires financial support beyond what the state of California can provide. Private philanthropy makes a difference in our ability to attract and retain top faculty and students, improve undergraduate and graduate programs, and maintain infrastructure and resources for research and teaching.

The department is deeply grateful to a long list of donors who have already assisted our quest for excellence. In addition to the below targeted areas, tax-deductible donations can also be made to the Departmental Fund for Excellence, which provides flexible support to address needs as they arise. To make a contribution to any of of our funds or find out more about University giving, please view the University's Development Website or contact Brian Boyer at or (805) 893-5696.
